Privacy Policy
Last updated: October 14, 2026
Watchdog is built on a simple promise: it watches your subscriptions, and it never touches your money. This policy explains what the app does with your information, in plain language.
What stays on your phone
When you upload or paste a bank statement, Watchdog scans it on your device to find recurring charges. Your statement is never uploaded to our servers. We do not operate servers that store your statements, and we never see them.
What we do not collect
- Bank logins, account numbers, or any financial credentials. Bank linking is not implemented.
- An account or sign-in. Watchdog has no login, so nothing is tied to your identity by us.
- Advertising identifiers or cross-app tracking data.
What third-party SDKs collect
Two SDKs in the app transmit limited technical data:
- Superwall (paywall and subscription infrastructure): device identifiers and paywall interaction events, used to deliver the paywall and check your subscription status. Not linked to your identity by us, not used for tracking.
- Apple push notifications: if you enable alerts, Apple issues a push token so reminders can reach you. The token is used only to deliver your alerts.
Analytics is currently off: no analytics SDK is active in the app.
Your controls
- Export: download everything Watchdog knows about you as a CSV, with one tap, free.
- Delete: erase all your data with one tap, free. No questions, no retention flow.
- Notifications: turn alerts off any time in iPhone Settings or in the app.
Children
Watchdog is a general-audience finance utility with no user-generated content and no accounts. It is not directed at children under 13, and we knowingly collect nothing from anyone.
Changes
If this policy changes in a way that matters, the new version will be posted here with a new date. Material changes will also be noted in the app.
